MONOLITH 

2016

A play of material and form. The marble basin’s dramatic architectural details are inspired by structures of pioneering modernists and ancient architecture. The metal frame below is inspired by Corbusier’s architects table. The monolithic, pyramid like marble top rests inverted in a geometric metallic frame and plays with idea of material and fragility as the seemingly thin minimal frame holds the large marble in place. The contrast of the glossy white marble against the black powder coated metal creates a feel that is both industrial yet elegant.
