MOONSHADOW.
2019
A play of proportions within the composition, rises to form Iongpi, from the Ukhrul District of the Indian state of Manipur. Days of sun-bathing the hand moulded torm, burnished by plant seeds, sets it forth in a kiln before it ensues solid, yet fragile, blackened to calculation with Chirono leaves. A conformation of perfect imperfection.
MOONSHADOW N°1 / 3
Two Lingams sit inversely over the other, centered to hand made perfection. The marriage of primordial Indian handicrafts with modern day aesthetic brings forth a form, symmetrical in stature, the epitome of wabi-sabi. Punctured arches, alternate the top and bottom, making this ’object’ a reversible, baked sculpture, embodying adaptability.
